Gingerbread Pancakes with Cinnamon Syrup


There’s nothing like waking up to the smell of gingerbread spices. These pancakes bring the warmth of the holiday season to breakfast on cold winter mornings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ginger

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/4 cup molasses

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 tbsp butter, melted


Cinnamon Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tsp cinnamon


Steps:

  1. Whisk flour, baking powder, and spices in a bowl. Add egg, milk, molasses, and butter, mixing until smooth.

  2. Pour batter on a griddle and cook until bubbles form. Flip and cook until golden brown.

  3. For syrup, simmer sugar, water, and cinnamon until thickened. Drizzle over pancakes and serve.
